A well-balanced attack led Oaks over Ezekiel Academy in every quarter on their way to victory on Thursday. The Mighty Oaks were the clear victors by a 90-67 margin over the Knights. The Mighty Oaks not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since October 27th (when they won 57-29).

Oaks' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Joey Allen led the charge by putting up 27 points. Ken Henderson was another key player, scoring 19 points.

Despite the loss, Ezekiel Academy still got an impressive performance from Kelson Free, who went 9-for-17 to rack up 31 points. Free has become a key player for the Knights: the team is 4-1 when he posts at least 20 points, but 4-5 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Justus Teate, who posted seven points and five rebounds.

The win made it two in a row for Oaks and bumps their season record up to 9-5. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 74.5 points over those games. As for Ezekiel Academy, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-6.

Coincidentally, Oaks and Ezekiel Academy will both be playing Edgewood Academy the next time they take the court. The Knights will host the Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, while the Mighty Oaks will head out to face them at 3:00 p.m. on January 2, 2026.
