Baseball Recap: Durango Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Durango had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Wednesday. They were the clear victors by a 7-1 margin over the Hemet Bulldogs.

Aiden Farrell made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched seven innings while giving up just one earned run off nine hits. He has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

In other batting news, Rocco Germano was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. Those two hits gave him a new career-high.

Durango's victory bumped their record up to 11-6. As for Hemet, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-9 record this season.

Durango will take on Lincoln in a tournament on Thursday. The Trailblazers are facing the Mustangs at the right time seeing as the Mustangs are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Hemet, they will head out to square off against Rancho Buena Vista at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The last four games the Longhorns have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
