Softball Recap: North Sanpete Hawks vs. Manti Templars
North Sanpete put the finishing touches on their 13th blowout victory of the season on Monday. They never let the Manti Templars onto the board and left with a 10-0 win. Winning may never get old, but North Sanpete sure is getting used to it with their eighth in a row.
Paeton Johnson made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and only two hits while striking out eight over six innings pitched. Johnson has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't pitched less than five innings in three consecutive pitching appearances. Johnson was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with two RBI.
In other batting news, Mylee Cook was incredible, going 2-for-3 with a home run and three runs. Payton Johnson was another key contributor, scoring a run while going 1-for-2.
North Sanpete pushed their record up to 15-8 with that victory, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season. As for Manti, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-16.
