Softball Recap: Burns Comes Up Short

Burns fell victim to Cherryville and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They lost 12-0 to the Ironmen. The loss continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their meetings with the Ironmen: they've now lost four in a row.

Burns' defeat dropped their record down to 8-6. As for Cherryville, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 11-5.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Burns will host Lincolnton at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Bulldogs are facing the Wolves at the right time seeing as the Wolves are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Cherryville, they will welcome Forestview at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Ironmen's pitchers better be ready for this one: the Jaguars have averaged an impressive 6.1 runs per game this season.
