Football Recap: Monmouth United Comes Up Short

If Monmouth United was riding high fresh off their 54-18 takedown of Astoria/VIT last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Red Storm lost 42-22 to the Illini West Chargers on Friday. The Red Storm have struggled against the Chargers recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Monmouth United's defeat dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Illini West, the win got them back to even at 4-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Monmouth United will square off against Princeville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Illini West, they will face off against Elmwood/Brimfield at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
