Soccer Game Preview: Mariner vs. Evergreen

The Mariner Marauders will venture away from home to take on the Evergreen Wolverines at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Evergreen will have to contend with a Mariner team hungry for a victory, something the squad hasn't seen since March 28. Mariner and Meadowdale finished up their match with a 2-2 draw on Tuesday. The win was some much needed relief for Mariner as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Evergreen's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They came up short against Renton, falling 5-2. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Evergreen came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Washington soccer rankings (they are ranked 85th, while Renton are ranked 225th).

With that draw, Mariner's record moves to 2-6-3. As for Evergreen, their defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 6-1 and their overall record down to 9-4.
