Softball Recap: Big Bear's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against University Prep, Big Bear was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. They came out on top against the Southlands Christian Eagles by a score of 9-5. The victory was some much needed relief for the Bears as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.

Abigail Hendricks made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run over six innings pitched. Hendricks was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Isabella Fanuele was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. Those two RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jordan Gilligan, who went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

Big Bear's win bumped their record up to 9-11-1. As for Southlands Christian, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 16-9.

Big Bear will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Eagles: the pair will be back at it again later today.
