Soccer Game Preview: Elgin vs. Round Lake

The Elgin Maroons will head out to square off against the Round Lake Panthers at 11:45 a.m. on Saturday.

Elgin is leaving town to face Round Lake after disappointing their home crowd in their season opener. The Maroons took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of Conant on Thursday.

Meanwhile, Round Lake's season-opener on Thursday wasn't quite what the team was looking for considering the end result. They and Waukegan finished up on equal footing with a 3-3 draw.

Elgin beat Round Lake by a goal in their previous meeting back in March of 2025, winning 5-4. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Maroons since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
