Central won the last time they faced Calera, and Anthony Dixon did his part to make sure it happened again. The Falcons were the clear victors by a 27-7 margin over the Eagles on Friday with plenty of help from Dixon, who rushed for 164 yards and two TDs while picking up 9.1 yards per carry. He showed off some serious burst, cutting through the defense on one rush that went for 62 yards.

When it comes to explaining why Calera lost, don't look at Jordan Ward. Despite the final result, he rushed for 66 yards and one score on only nine carries, and also threw for 188 yards on 19 of 28 attempts. The Eagles also got a significant boost from Jordan Henderson, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 81 yards.

Central's victory bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Calera, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

Central and Calera will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Falcons are set to square off against their familiar foe Paul W. Bryant at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Calera will take on rival Benjamin Russell at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
