Recap: Trinity Bulldogs vs. Randleman Tigers

The Trinity Bulldogs fought the good fight in their overtime contest against the Randleman Tigers on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell to the Tigers 74-69. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.

Several Bulldogs players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Dominic Payne, who almost dropped a triple-double on 21 points, nine rebounds, and ten assists. Payne is absolutely dominating the point category: he's posted at least 15 every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Brandon Campbell, who scored 16 points along with six rebounds.

Trinity's loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-7. As for Randleman, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 13-4.

Trinity will be playing in front of their home fans against Southwestern Randolph at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Southwestern Randolph's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last five games. As for Randleman, they will head out on the road to face off against Wheatmore at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Wheatmore has now lost 16 straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since November 20.
