Basketball Game Preview: Leonard Lancers vs. Palm Beach Gardens Gators

Leonard and Palm Beach Gardens are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2017, but not for long. Having just played yesterday, the Leonard Lancers will get right back to it and host the Palm Beach Gardens Gators at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Leonard is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They really took it to Dreyfoos School of the Arts for the full four quarters, racking up a 70-38 win. The victory was some much needed relief for the Lancers as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Palm Beach Gardens, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Monday. They pulled ahead with a 60-59 photo finish over Palm Beach Central on Tuesday. The win was all the more spectacular given the Gators' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 201st, while the Broncos are ranked 62nd).

Palm Beach Gardens pushed their record up to 10-4 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.8 points per game. As for Leonard, their win bumped their record up to 3-9.
