Softball Recap: Swansboro Makes It Four in a Row on the Road

Swansboro hadn't done well against Topsail recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. Swansboro had just enough and edged out Topsail 7-6. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Swansboro.

Jordyn Williams and Payton Jensen did most of the damage at the plate: Williams went 3-for-4 with two RBI and one double, while Jensen scored a run while going 2-for-4. Katherine Cahall was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

Swansboro's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 5-3. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.8 runs over those games. As for Topsail, the defeat snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 3-1 record.

Coming up, Swansboro will square off against Richlands at 6:00 p.m. on March 21st. As for Topsail, they will head out to face off against North Brunswick at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. North Brunswick is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.3 runs per game this season.
