Baseball Recap: Windom Victorious

Windom won the last time they faced Madelia and things went their way on Monday too. The Eagles came out on top against the Blackhawks by a score of 8-3.

Joe Walinga made a big impact no matter where he played. He pitched six innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. What's more, he posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one RBI.

Walinga wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Quintin Tietz, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI.

Windom's record now sits at 10-7. As for Madelia, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-3.

Coming up, Windom will venture away from home to challenge Pipestone at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Arrows will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Eagles surely won't give up without a fight. As for Madelia, they will host Loyola at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
