Baseball Recap: Moreno Valley Has No Trouble Against JW North

Moreno Valley barely beat JW North the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Vikings blew past the Huskies 10-2 on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Vikings, who have now won five games by seven runs or more so far this season.

The team relied heavily on E. Zendejas, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was D. McCauley, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Moreno Valley was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .483. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Moreno Valley is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-6 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for JW North, they dropped their record down to 2-11-1 with the loss, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season.

Moreno Valley will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Huskies: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday.
