Preview: King vs. Summer Creek
King is 0-9-1 against Summer Creek since February of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Saturday. The King Panthers will head out on the road to take on the Summer Creek Bulldogs at 9:00 a.m.
After soaring to seven goals the game before, King were a bit more limited in their matchup on Wednesday. Their tough 8-0 defeat to Atascocita might stick with them for a while.
Meanwhile, Summer Creek scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Wednesday. Their defense stepped up to hand Beaumont United a 15-0 shutout. With that victory, Summer Creek brought their scoring average up to 2.5 goals per game.
Their offense was hitting Beaumont United from everywhere, as eight different players booted in a goal.
King has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-6-1 record this season. As for Summer Creek, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-3-4.
King suffered a grim 10-0 defeat to Summer Creek when the teams last played back in March of 2023. Can King avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
