Volleyball Recap: Pelham Panthers vs. Saraland Spartans
Pelham was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Saraland Spartans. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Spartans this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-1 on Thursday.
Claire Robinson paced Pelham's offense, picking up four kills. Robinson got some help from Bristol Hannah and her eight assists. Sydney Hill controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.
Leading Saraland to victory were Taniyah Smith and Bryleigh Goff. Smith had three digs and three aces, while Goff had seven digs and two aces. That's the most aces Smith has posted over her last six contests.
Pelham's defeat dropped their record down to 13-24. As for Saraland, their win bumped their record up to 28-5.
Pelham didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-0 loss against Montgomery Academy on the 10th. As for Saraland, they have also already played their next matchup, a 2-0 victory against Trinity Presbyterian on the 10th.
