Softball Recap: Four Straight Home Victories for Ferguson

It's playoff time, and Ferguson had no trouble coming through when it counted. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Coral Gables Cavaliers a 15-0 shutout on Monday. The Falcons haven't had any issues with the Cavaliers recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

Ashley Barroso looked comfortable as she pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.

On the hitting side, Ferguson got a massive performance out of Briana Canahuate, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. Nathalia Salvat was another key player, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs, two RBI, and one double.

Ferguson's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-9. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.0 runs over those games. As for Coral Gables, they are on a ten-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-12.

Coming up, Ferguson will challenge Coral Reef at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Falcons' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Barracudas have averaged an impressive 6.3 runs per game this season. Coral Gables does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
