 Haven had to kick off their season on the road on Tuesday, but they showed no ill effects. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Hillsboro Trojans  a   19-0 shutout. That's more bragging rights for Haven, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.
  Avery Brawner made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she  kept things locked down with   no  earned runs or hits while striking out six over four innings pitched. Brawner was also big at the plate,  scoring a  run and  stealing a base while going 2-for-5.
 In other batting news, Haven got a  massive  performance out of  Sadie Estill, who  scored three  runs and  stole two bases while going 4-for-5.  Sophie Faidley was another key contributor,  scoring a  run while going 4-for-5.
 Hillsboro's defeat was  their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which  dropped their record down to 0-3.
 The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Haven beat Hillsboro by a score of  24-0 later that day.
