Recap: Marian Crusaders vs. Millard South Patriots
In what's become a running theme this season, the Marian Crusaders gave their fans yet another huge win on Saturday. They were the clear victor by a 58-38 margin over Millard South. Given Marian's advantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 37th, while Millard South is ranked 136th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Elsa Vedral was her usual excellent self, scoring 13 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. Paige Miller was another key contributor, scoring seven points.
Marian is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record this season. As for Millard South, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-13.
Marian will play host again and welcome Millard North, where tip off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Millard North focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up nine on Saturday. Millard South will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Millard West on February 13th. Millard West is coming into the matchup with nine straight wins at home, so Millard South is out to stop a squad with plenty of momentum.
