Baseball Game Preview: Inderkum Tigers vs. Rodriguez Mustangs

The Inderkum Tigers will face off against the Rodriguez Mustangs at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.

Inderkum is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Ponderosa just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell just short of the Bruins by a score of 4-3.

Harrison Manning was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he pitched five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off nine hits. What's more, he gave up only one walk, the fewest he's had since back in March.

At the plate, Inderkum saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lamont Bufford, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.

Meanwhile, Rodriguez waltzed into their contest on Friday with eight straight wins... but they left with nine. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 7-6 W against the Bulldogs.

Austin Krebs looked comfortable as he tossed four innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off four hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (three).

On the hitting side, Gideon Mayo was excellent, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Ben Vaughn, who went 1-for-2 with three RBI.

Rodriguez's win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 17-7. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.8 runs over those games. As for Inderkum, they now have a losing record of 13-14.
