Basketball Recap: Timpanogos Takes a Loss

Timpanogos fought the good fight in their overtime game against Maple Mountain on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Golden Eagles by a score of 58-55. The Timberwolves' loss continues a trend for the team, making it four in a row dating back to last season.

Nash Jackson was the offensive standout of the matchup as he dropped a double-double with 15 points and 11 rebounds. Jackson is crushing it when it comes to boards: he's pulled down at least eight every time he's taken the court this season. Maddux Duncan was another key player, putting up six points.

Timpanogos' defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Maple Mountain, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Timpanogos will challenge Juan Diego Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on December 3. As for Maple Mountain, they will face off against Cedar Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Golden Eagles will be up against the Aviators' rather soft defense (which has allowed 63.25 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
