Basketball Recap: Amarillo Collegiate Academy Drops Highest Score of Season Against Hill County

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Amarillo Collegiate Academy had no problem doing just that on Thursday. They claimed a resounding 68-40 win over the Hill County Wolves. The Eagles' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Amarillo Collegiate Academy's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Caden Holly, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten assists. Those ten assists gave Holly a new career-high. Will Stollings was another key player, going 6 of 9 en route to 13 points in addition to eight assists and five boards.

Holly wasn't the only one working in the assists department: Amarillo Collegiate Academy was working as a unit and finished the game with 25 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

With the win, Amarillo Collegiate Academy broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 8-15. As for Hill County, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-9.

Amarillo Collegiate Academy and Clariden will face off at 10:00 a.m. on Friday without much rest having both just played. Hill County does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
