Basketball Recap: Four Straight Home Wins for Lely

Lely had won three straight home games and Zashlie Andris did her part to make it four on Thursday. The Lely Trojans claimed a resounding 56-17 victory over the Fort Myers Green Wave thanks in part to Andris, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 15 steals. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in steals.

Maggie Poling was another key player, putting up no points along with six steals and five rebounds. She has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times she's played.

Lely is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 13-11 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.5 points per game. As for Fort Myers, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-15 record this season.

Lely won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Canterbury at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Lely is facing Canterbury at the right time seeing as Canterbury is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Fort Myers, they will also get right back to it: they'll challenge Lehigh at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Fort Myers will also cruise into their next match with the timing on their side: Lehigh will have lost four straight heading into Friday's contest.
