Baseball Recap: Lewis County Comes Up Short

Lewis County lost against Columbia Academy back in April of 2018, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Lewis County came up short against Columbia Academy, falling 18-3. The Panthers' loss continues a trend for the team, making it four in a row.

Brycen McDonald made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and fired off two home runs and three RBI while going 2-for-2. Those two home runs gave him a new career-high.

Lewis County's defeat dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Columbia Academy, their win was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 10-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lewis County will square off against South Elgin at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Columbia Academy, they will challenge Zion Christian Academy at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Columbia Academy's pitchers better be ready for this one: Zion Christian Academy has averaged an impressive 8.8 runs per game this season.
