Volleyball Recap: Brecksville-Broadview Heights Comes Up Short

Brecksville-Broadview Heights was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Mayfield Wildcats.

Brecksville-Broadview Heights took a 2-1 lead headed into the fourth set, but sadly they lost the next two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 22-25, 19-25, 28-26, 15-10.

Their offense was headlined by Landon Shaw and Caleb Styskal, who picked up 11 kills apiece. They got some help from Josh Choi and his 29 assists. Styskal also made an impact serving: he shared the team lead in aces with Jadon Harbaugh, racking up three apiece.

Brecksville-Broadview Heights' defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Mayfield, they pushed their record up to 7-2 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Brecksville-Broadview Heights is set to square off against their familiar foe Western Reserve Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Mayfield will take on rival Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
