Softball Recap: Cooper Comes Up Short

It was a proper cat-fight when Cooper faced off against Temple on Tuesday. The Cooper Cougars took an 8-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Temple Wildcats.

Angelic Gonzalez and Rylee Young did some serious damage despite the final result: Gonzalez went 1-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI, while Young scored a run while going 3-for-4. That triple marked the first that Gonzalez's hit this season.

Cooper dropped their record down to 5-5 with the loss, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Temple, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 3-3-1 record this season.

Cooper will head out to take on Mesquite at 1:45 p.m. on Thursday. As for Temple, they will take on Johnson at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday.
