Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Irvine). They blew past the Valencia Tigers, posting a 72-38 win. The Vaqueros have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three matchups by 23 points or more this season.

Irvine was led to victory by Holden Stearns and Jalen Yim. Stearns went 9-for-13 on his way to 21 points and six boards, while Yim shot 75% from the field to rack up 13 points along with five assists and five steals. Stearns continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last four games he's played. Chase Brito was another key player, going 5-for-6 en route to 12 points and five rebounds.

They weren't the only ones working in the assist department: Irvine was working as a unit and finished the game with 19 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Irvine has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.0 points over those games. As for Valencia, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-3.

Looking ahead, Irvine will be playing at home against Saddleback at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Valencia, they will be taking part in a tournament against Newport Harbor at 3:00 p.m. on the 9th.
