Basketball Recap: Gray's Creek Falls Short of Hoggard in the Playoffs

Gray's Creek and Hoggard squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Gray's Creek had to settle for second. They were beaten by the Hoggard Vikings 62-24. The Bears just can't catch a break and have now endured five losses in a row.

Hoggard got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Tristan Shivers out in front who on her way to 18 points in addition to six assists and five boards. What's more, Shivers also posted a 78% field goal percentage, which is the highest she's achieved since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was AK Chance, who en route to 15 points and five steals.

Gray's Creek's defeat dropped their record down to 11-13. As for Hoggard, the win (which was their 18th in a row) raised their record to 27-1.

Gray's Creek does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Hoggard, they will challenge Green Level at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Hoggard's defense has only allowed 24.6 points per game this season, so Green Level's offense will have their work cut out for them.
