Softball Preview: Brantley County Herons vs. Thomasville Bulldogs
Brantley County has enjoyed the comforts of home their last three games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will face off against the Thomasville Bulldogs at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Brantley County is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.3 runs per game this season.
On Tuesday, everything went Brantley County's way against Thomasville as Brantley County made off with a 13-1 victory. The Herons might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten contests by eight runs or more this season.
Lexi Byrd and Lydia Anderson did most of the damage at the plate: Byrd scored two runs while going 2-for-3, while Anderson scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-4. Anderson is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now stolen at least one in the last six games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kelsie Bishop, who went 2-for-2 with a double and an RBI.
Brantley County's win was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-5. As for Thomasville, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-9.
