Football Recap: Carrboro Jaguars vs. Jordan-Matthews Jets
Carrboro unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They fell 20-15 to the Jordan-Matthews Jets on Friday. Sadly, the loss continues a streak the team started last season, making it five in a row.
Several Jaguars players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Matthew Bien-Aise, who picked up 152 receiving yards and one score. Jake Stevenson was another key passer, throwing for 301 yards and a pair of touchdowns.
Jordan-Matthews had a senior duo take command as Jakari Blue rushed for 93 yards and two TDs and Kamarie Hadley rushed for 104 yards on only 13 carries.
Carrboro didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 14-6 defeat against Northern Durham on the 29th. As for Jordan-Matthews, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 48-6 win against Chatham Central on the 29th.
