Football Recap: Carrboro Jaguars vs. Jordan-Matthews Jets
Carrboro unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They took a 20-15 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Jordan-Matthews Jets on Friday. Sadly, the defeat continues a streak the team started last season, making it five in a row.
Carrboro lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Matthew Bien-Aise, who picked up 152 receiving yards and one touchdown. Another player making a difference was Jake Stevenson, who threw for 301 yards and a pair of TDs.
Jordan-Matthews had a senior duo take command as Jakari Blue rushed for 93 yards and two scores and Kamarie Hadley rushed for 104 yards on only 13 carries.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Carrboro will face off against Northern Durham at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Jordan-Matthews, they will take on Chatham Central at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
