Basketball Game Preview: River Oaks Mustangs vs. Porter's Chapel Academy Eagles

Having just played yesterday, the River Oaks Mustangs will get right back to it and host the Porter's Chapel Academy Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. River Oaks is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.

On Thursday, River Oaks made easy work of Prairie View Academy and carried off a 69-45 victory. The Mustangs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight games by 21 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Porter's Chapel Academy played a tough matchup on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They had to suffer through a 60-22 loss at the hands of Hillcrest Christian. The Eagles haven't had much luck with the Cougars recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.

River Oaks' win was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-0. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.9 points per game. As for Porter's Chapel Academy, they now have a losing record at 0-1.

River Oaks came up short against Porter's Chapel Academy when the teams last played back in January of 2024, falling 52-46. Can River Oaks avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
