Basketball Game Preview: Moultonborough Academy Panthers vs. Franklin Tornadoes

The Moultonborough Academy Panthers will take on the Franklin Tornadoes at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

On Wednesday, Moultonborough Academy didn't have quite enough to beat Lin-Wood and fell 45-42. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Panthers have suffered against the Lumberjacks since January 30, 2019.

Meanwhile, Franklin ended up a good deal behind Concord Christian on Tuesday and lost 64-50. The defeat continues a trend for the Tornadoes in their matchups with Concord Christian: they've now lost eight in a row.

Moultonborough Academy's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 6-10. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.7 points over those games. As for Franklin, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-7.

Moultonborough Academy came out on top in a nail-biter against Franklin in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, sneaking past 39-37. Does Moultonborough Academy have another victory up their sleeve, or will Franklin turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
