Baseball Recap: Hoehne Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Sanford, Hoehne was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Rocky Ford Meloneers an 11-0 shutout. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Farmers as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Antonio Cantoria was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out nine over five innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in March. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Matteo Moltrer, who went 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Anthony Sandoval, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Hoehne's victory bumped their record up to 7-13-1. As for Rocky Ford, they dropped their record down to 2-16 with the defeat, which was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season.

As of now, neither Hoehne nor the Meloneers have any future games scheduled.
