Softball Preview: South Kitsap Wolves vs. Olympia Bears        
        
		
            
 The South Kitsap Wolves will be playing in front of their home fans against the Olympia Bears at 4:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.
 Last Wednesday, South Kitsap sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with  a  9-8  win over Puyallup.
  Kamdyn Hagerty made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she  pitched two innings while giving up   no  earned runs off   one  hit. Hagerty was also big at the plate,  going 1-for-3 with two  RBI and a  double.
 In other batting news,  Ryleigh Wotzka was  incredible,  going 2-for-4 with a  home run and four  RBI.  Ronan Byrd was another key contributor,  scoring three  runs while going 3-for-4.
 Meanwhile, Olympia entered their tilt with Sumner with three consecutive wins  but they'll enter their next game with four. They had just enough and edged the Spartans out  4-3.
 Like South Kitsap, Olympia also got a great game from a two-way player:  Sami Potvin. She  struck out 16 batters over  nine innings while giving up  three earned runs off   seven  hits (and only one walk). Potvin has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't  tossed less than eight  strikeouts in three consecutive pitching appearances. Potvin was also solid in the batter's box,  going 1-for-4 with a  home run and two  RBI.
 Potvin wasn't  the only one making solid contact as  two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was  Sydnee Chandler-Trent, who  went 3-for-4 with  an  RBI.
 South Kitsap has  been performing  well recently as they've  won eight of their last ten matches,  which provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record  this season. As for Olympia, they pushed their record up to 15-2 with that  victory, which was their fourth straight  at home.
 Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging  on Tuesday. South Kitsap hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season,  having  averaged 0.7  home runs per game. However, it's not like Olympia struggles in that department as   they've been averaging 1.3. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
 South Kitsap couldn't quite finish off Olympia in their previous matchup  on April 1st and fell  2-0. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of   Potvin, who   didn't allow a single  earned run and  only two  hits while striking out 14 over seven innings pitched.
