Basketball Recap: Reagan Find Success

If R.J. Reynolds wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Reagan, they should've done a better job of containing Jayden McCrae. The Reagan Raiders managed a 56-51 victory over the R.J. Reynolds Demons on Wednesday thanks in part to McCrae, who almost dropped a double-double on 17 points and nine boards. His evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points.

James Lyons was another key player, putting up ten points. Those ten points gave him a new career-high.

R.J. Reynolds' loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Miles Broadnax, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Grant Burns, who went 9 of 16 en route to 18 points.

Reagan's record is now 9-7. As for R.J. Reynolds, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-11 record this season.

Reagan wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 64-49 win against Glenn on the 24th. As for R.J. Reynolds, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 55-42 defeat against Mount Tabor on the 24th.
