Basketball Game Preview: St. Francis de Sales Pioneers vs. Southland College Prep

Having just played yesterday, the St. Francis de Sales Pioneers will jump right back in to play Southland College Prep at 11:00 a.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

St. Francis de Sales took a loss when they played away from home on Monday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They blew past Zion-Benton 61-33. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Pioneers as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

While Southland College Prep didn't have the best season last year (they finished 9-17), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They walked away with a 59-47 win over Longwood on Thursday.

St. Francis de Sales better keep an eye on David Shaw. He was instrumental in Southland College Prep's win, going 8 for 15 on his way to 30 points and three steals. Shaw's morning made it five games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Gabryel Patterson, who posted ten points and seven boards.

St. Francis de Sales' victory bumped their record up to 4-9. As for Southland College Prep, their win bumped their record up to 6-3.

St. Francis de Sales didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Southland College Prep when the teams last played back in February, but they still walked away with a 63-59 victory.
