Recap: Custer County Bobcats vs. Evangel Christian Academy Eagles
Even though the Custer County Bobcats have not done well against the Evangel Christian Academy Eagles recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Custer County secured a 48-42 W over Evangel Christian Academy. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Custer County.
Custer County's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Owyn Clark, who scored 11 points. Grant Rusk was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with five rebounds.
Custer County's victory was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 2-2. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.0 points per game. As for Evangel Christian Academy, they now have a losing record at 2-3.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Custer County will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on La Veta at 7:00 p.m. on January 9, 2024. Evangel Christian Academy won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Cotopaxi at 5:30 p.m. on December 16th. Hopefully Cotopaxi focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 last Saturday.
