Having struggled with five losses in a row, South Mountain turned things around against Camelback on Thursday. They had just enough and edged out the Spartans 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Jaguars have posted since April 6, 2024.

South Mountain was staring down a 2-1 deficit headed into the fourth set, but they rallied to take the next two for the win. The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 22-25, 21-25, 25-17, 15-13.

Meanwhile, Maryvale had already won three in a row and they went ahead and made it four on Tuesday. They blew past the Champions 3-0.

Maryvale not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept Cesar Chavez between 17 and 20 points across their sets. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 25-17, 25-20.

South Mountain's win bumped their record up to 5-12. As for Maryvale, their victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-7.
