Softball Recap: Clemente Comes Up Short

After flying high against South Shore International on Tuesday, Clemente came back down to earth. The Wildcats came up short against the Juarez Eagles on Wednesday, falling 22-12. The defeat continues a trend for the Wildcats in their meetings with the Eagles: they've now lost five in a row.

Sabrina Negron was cooking despite her team's loss, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Talina Figueroa was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three runs and one RBI.

Clemente's loss dropped their record down to 8-2. As for Juarez, they pushed their record up to 13-1 with the victory, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season.

Juarez didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 19-1 defeat against Payton College Prep on the 24th. Hopefully Clemente paid attention to the Eagles' game: the next time they hit the field, they'll take on the Eagles at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
