Baseball Recap: Hardin-Jefferson Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

Hardin-Jefferson and Bridge City squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Hardin-Jefferson had to settle for second. They came up short against the Cardinals, falling 11-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Hawks have suffered since March 18th.

Maddox Harrod was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run and three RBI. That home run marked the first that he has launched this season. Luke McLeod was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two runs and one double.

Hardin-Jefferson's loss dropped their record down to 17-15-1. As for Bridge City, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 23-6-1 record this season.

As of now, neither Hardin-Jefferson nor Bridge City have any future games scheduled.
