Recap: West-Oak Warriors vs. Pendleton Bulldogs
The West-Oak Warriors's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their sixth straight loss. They fell 52-39 to Pendleton. West-Oak lost against Pendleton in their previous head to head back in January of 2023, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 60-45 score last time.
West-Oak's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Drew Crompton, who scored 11 points along with three steals. Another player making a difference was Lucas Towe, who scored ten points along with eight rebounds.
Even though they lost, West-Oak were smashing the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Pendleton only pulled down five offensive rebounds.
Among those leading the charge was Garon Blalock, who scored 16 points along with seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Luke Gray, who scored 13 points.
West-Oak has been struggling recently, as they've lost eight of their last nine matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-12 record this season. As for Pendleton, they now have a winning record of 9-8.
West-Oak will be playing in front of their home fans against Daniel at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Daniel presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than West-Oak in South Carolina (Daniel is ranked 72nd, while West-Oak is ranked 271st). As for Pendleton, they will head out on the road to face off against Seneca at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing is sure in Seneca's favor as the squad sits on four straight wins at home while Pendleton has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.
