Softball Recap: Pennsauken Tech Takes a Loss

After flying high against Willingboro last Wednesday, Pennsauken Tech came back down to earth. Pennsauken Tech fell just short of the Pemberton Hornets by a score of 8-7 on Wednesday. Pennsauken Tech was not able to make up for their loss to Pemberton from their previous meeting back in May of 2024.

Lydia Heatwole was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring three runs and stealing eight bases while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games she's played. Kiana Rosario was another key player, scoring a run and stealing four bases while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

Pennsauken Tech's defeat was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Pemberton, their victory ended an 11-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-7.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pennsauken Tech will head out to take on Riverside at 10:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Pemberton, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Doane Academy at 3:45 p.m. on the 28th.
