Volleyball Recap: Fremont Takes a Loss

Fremont lost against Los Altos back in April, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Firebirds fell 3-1 to the Eagles.

Fremont started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The match finished with set scores of 23-25, 25-19, 25-13, 27-25.

Ciaran McManus paced Fremont's offense, picking up 11 kills. McManus got some help from Neebir Natarjan and his 25 assists. Kalash Venkumahanti controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Fremont has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-18 record this season. As for Los Altos, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 14 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-6 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Fremont will face off against rival Gunn at 6:45 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Los Altos is set to take on their familiar foe Wilcox at 6:45 p.m. on Wednesday.
