Football Game Preview: Scott City Rams vs. Charleston Bluejays

The Scott City Rams will venture away from home to square off against the Charleston Bluejays at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Scott City is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 48 points last Friday, they were much more limited against Caruthersville on Friday. They took a 21-10 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Tigers. While losing is never fun, the Rams can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri football rankings (they are ranked 219th, while the Tigers are ranked 101st).

Meanwhile, Charleston got the win against Saxony Lutheran on Friday by a conclusive 28-7. The Bluejays might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three contests by 21 points or more this season.

Charleston has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-2 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 33.5 points over those games. As for Scott City, their defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 4-2.

Scott City came up short against Charleston in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, falling 44-35. Can the Rams avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
