Cason Irwin posted a new career-high in strikeouts on Tuesday. He struck out six batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off five hits (and only one walk). He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances.

Irwin's strong effort led Montgomery over Huntsville and he'll get a chance to do so again: the teams have a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Bears are a perfect 5-0 against the Hornets going back to March of 2015, a lead they'll look to extend.
