Softball Recap: Cameron Comes Up Short

Cameron extended their losing streak to three on Thursday, dropping their season record down to 2-7 in the process. They came up short against the Frontier Cougars, falling 14-7. That's two games in a row now that the Dragons have lost by exactly seven runs.

Bailey Long made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, one triple, and one stolen base. That triple marked the first that she has hit this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Brooklyn Pekula, who went 3-for-5 with two runs.

As for Frontier, their victory bumped their record up to 13-2. The result was nothing new for the Cougars, who have now won six matches by seven runs or more so far this season.

On Frontier's side, Alexis Livingston was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and three runs. Those five RBI gave Livingston a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kaycee Berentz, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.

Coming up, Cameron will venture away from home to challenge Tyler at 5:00 p.m. on May 2. As for Frontier, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 10-1 win against Valley on the 25th.
