Soccer Game Preview: Morgan vs. Caldwell

The Morgan Raiders will face off against the Caldwell Redskins at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Morgan is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 4.4 goals per game this season.

The home team had won the previous six meetings between Morgan and Coshocton, and Morgan kept the tradition alive. The Raiders' defense stepped up to hand the Redskins a 2-0 shutout on Tuesday. Given Morgan's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio soccer rankings (they are ranked 241st, while Coshocton are ranked 506th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Cole Mcgill and Aaron Baker scored both of Morgan's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 19 goals.

Meanwhile, Tuesday just wasn't the day for Caldwell's offense. They lost 8-0 to Tuscarawas Valley on Tuesday. Caldwell haven't had much luck with Tuscarawas Valley recently, as the team has come up short the last seven times they've met.

Caldwell's defeat dropped their record down to 0-13. As for Morgan, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season.

Everything went Morgan's way against Caldwell in their previous matchup back in September of 2015, as Morgan made off with an 8-0 win. Do the Raiders have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Redskins turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
