Baseball Recap: Ripley Picks Up 14th Straight Win at Home

Ripley never let their opponents score on Tuesday. They walked away with a 5-0 victory over the Grafton Bearcats.

The result came thanks to Parker Keller's shutout, as he gave up just three hits and racked up seven Ks. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Peyton Keller was excellent, going 1-for-2 with one home run. Jackson Curry was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI.

Ripley pushed their record up to 14-4 with the win, which was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.4 runs on average over those games. As for Grafton, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 16-15.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Ripley will face off against Hurricane at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Vikings 3.1, the Redskins 2.5) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Grafton, they are taking a road trip to challenge Tyler at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
