Football Recap: Bayonne Skates Past Hudson Catholic with Ease

Bayonne had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 24.5 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They took their matchup with ease, bagging a 42-0 victory over the Hudson Catholic Hawks. For the Bees, this counts as revenge for the 27-21 win the Hawks walked away with the last time they faced one another back in September of 2021.

Bayonne was led to victory by Nico Sampson and Chance Fischer. Sampson threw for 158 yards and three TDs on only 14 passes, while Fischer gained 173 total yards and two touchdowns. Fischer's rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his fourth straight game with at least 102 rushing yards.

Bayonne now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Hudson Catholic, they dropped their record down to 1-6 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight at home.

Looking ahead, Bayonne will welcome Columbia at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Hudson Catholic, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Kennedy on the 24th.
